Meanwhile, the board of Tennis Launcher Club, Rama Kharisma said, “We sent 3 teams for the women’s doubles beginner category and 1 women’s doubles intermediate team.”
“Frankly, I have yet to be able to determine a target for this championship but of course I am taking advantage of this special moment to gain experience in the championship competition. Indeed, tennis has been gaining a lot of attention from the Indonesian people lately. We warmly welcome this event for providing an opportunity for amateur and recreational players to have the experience of participating in a tournament.”
One of the amateur players competing in the event, Muhammad Abadi, said that the Court club sent 5 teams to compete in all available categories. He expressed his appreciation for the tournament being held.
“The Dash Tennis Tournament is very well-organized and suitable as a benchmark for other similar amateur tournaments. I hope this tournament will be held continuously, adding the singles category,” concluded Abadi.
Meanwhile, national wheelchair tennis athletes, Agus Fitriadi and Enjang stated that “It’s great to be able to play in the TipTip Dash Tennis Tournament and able to show my appreciation for Dash Sports for its good initiatives in organizing a wheelchair tennis exhibition matches.”
“Hopefully we have seeds of regeneration in wheelchair tennis, because as athletes we face a lot of challenges such as time and cost that we must devote to. 5 years of training and competition would still not be enough for us to compete in the international arena. Must love tennis, that is for sure!”
Dash Tennis Tournament Event Director, Ardi Rahadi, said that “The Dash Tennis Tournament, held on Saturday to Sunday, 17-18 of June 2023 at the Bulungan Tennis Court, South Jakarta, featured 3 categories, namely the Men’s Doubles (Mix Beginner x Intermediate), The Women’s Doubles Intermediate and the Women’s Beginner. Each category sported 32 teams, for a total of 96 teams competing as well as an additional exhibition match of wheelchair tennis.”
Furthermore, Ardi explained that the qualifying round of the tournament will apply the rules of 1 set of 8 games, 8-8 tie-break and 2 deuces (Third deuce sudden death) and the final round will apply the rules of Best of three sets of 6 games, 6-6 tie-break and third set super tie-break.
Hundreds of supporters came and watched the Dash Tennis Tournament event for free at the Bulungan tennis court in South Jakarta on Saturday and Sunday, 17 and 18 of June 2023. The matches were held from 9 am to 10 pm.
