Aman Family Experiences Across Asia in 2021

Amanpulo, Pamalican Island, Philippines

Family Wellness and Sea Turtle Encounters

Set on its own island in the Sulu Sea, Amanpulo is the epitome of a tropical island-retreat. The resort is an hour’s flight away from Manila, only accessible by a private plane, making it exclusive to the guests of Amanpulo. Each of the resort’s private villas has its own beachfront looking out to the picturesque surrounding landscape, and Amanpulo’s spa offers stunning island views, inspiring holistic healing.

The resort has introduced new bonding wellness treatment activities for families to strengthen their ties. The Chillax Massage is designed for parents and children aged 13 to 16 to relax muscles and encourage the progression of verbal and social interaction. Other wellness activities include group yoga, Zumba, personal training and a Jungle Run – a fun and interactive cardio workout for all members of the family. Additionally, families can embark on private-guided snorkelling and diving tours centered around encounters with sea turtles that are found swimming in the azure waters of Pamalican. The Amanpulo Marine Conservation Programme protects these endangered species of sea turtles and aims to raise awareness among guests.

Aman-i-Khas, India

Nature Walks at Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore is home to approximately 75 tigers, a few hundred crocodiles and over 350 species of birds, including a large variety of migrants from as far off as Europe and Siberia, who make it their home during the winter. An ornithologist’s paradise, also roaming the scrub woodlands and rolling hills are leopards, civets, jungle cats, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, wild boar, sambar and spotted deer. At Aman-i-Khas, young guests are invited to explore the full beauty of nature on a guided-walk at the Ranthambhore National Park accompanied by the hotel’s naturalist. The 1.5-hour walk will introduce the flora and fauna of the region including the birdlife, mammals and a number of ancient monuments that dot the countryside.

Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate retreats with the unassuming, warm hospitality of a gracious private home. The first, Amanpuri (place of peace) in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept and, since then, Aman has grown to encompass 33 exquisitely serene hotels and resorts in 20 destinations across the world. A further eight properties are under construction, with the next to open in New York (2021).

In such spectacular settings, Aman has honed its offering with its transformative influence on mind, body and spirit through harmoniously designed environments transporting guests out of their everyday lives. Twelve properties also offer private branded Residences: sanctuaries that go beyond commonplace notions of luxury allowing a select few to make the Aman way of life a permanent reality.

In recent years, Aman has grown to offer its coveted lifestyle beyond the parameters of its havens. In 2018, the introduction of Aman Skincare continued the brand’s holistic influence, offering beautiful scented formulas using powerful all-natural ingredients and inspired by Aman Spas. The introduction of Sva – a range of supplements designed to help maintain optimum health – and Aman Fine Fragrance in 2020 continued this journey, bringing Aman into the comfort of home.

This sentiment was echoed in 2021, with the arrival of a new retail collection, The Essentials by Aman, comprising timeless ready-to-wear pieces that answer the needs of every Aman guest.

With innovation a cornerstone of the brand’s philosophy, in 2020, Aman welcomed a new hotel brand, Janu – meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit. Janu offers a unique take on hospitality where genuine human interaction, playful expression and social wellness are at the core of the experience. Janu aims to bring balance to the head and heart and rekindle the soul. Three forthcoming Janu hotels are already under construction: Montenegro (2022), Al Ula in Saudi Arabia (2023) and Tokyo (2023). Janu Montenegro will be the first hotel to incorporate the serviced Residences concept, enabling guests to wholly embrace the Janu’s spirit.
