Citi Indonesia CEO Batara Sianturi was one of only four Indonesian CEOs recently named as Best CEO With Distinction by the SWA Media Group. The is the second-Best CEO Award won by Batara in two consecutive years, and this year, the award was given virtually during a webinar themed, ‘Decoding Leadership Agility for Stronger Business in New Era: Great Lesson from Indonesia Best CEO 2021”.
During a webinar session also hosted by SWA, Batara also shared several leadership principles that he implements in Citi Indonesia. “As a leader, it is important for me to be able to merge the principles that I believe in with all the company’s values. Citi places ethics and integrity first and foremost in doing our business.”
“These are values which I try to instill to all the staff in Citi Indonesia, especially having a sense of ownership and Being the Very Best in doing our work. We do our very best in carrying out our mission of serving as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress,” said Batara.
SWA Media Group Editor Kemal E Gani noted during the event said that the Best CEO awards were given to a total of 15 CEOs from various companies, both state-owned as well as from the private sectors. “In terms of judging parameters, the selection of the Best CEOs employed the leadership concept developed by Franklin Covey, and consist of four essential leadership roles, namely Inspiring Trust, Creating Vision, Executing Strategy, and Coaching Potential,” said Kemal. A survey sent to selected staff of competing companies were also part of the judging process.
Batara expressed his appreciation for the SWA media group after receiving the award. “It is such an honor to receive this prestigious award. I would like to dedicate this to all my colleagues in Citi Indonesia. Their dedication and hard work have enabled Citi Indonesia to continue to provide the best service to our customer, even during a challenging time.
Batara has earned several similar awards within the last two years, among others, as Best CEO from Infobank and The Iconomics.
