Archipelago Food Festival Featuring Gresik’s Signature Cuisine

The Archipelago Food Festival (AFF) once again showcased the excellence of traditional Gresik archipelago cuisine. The 30th AFF took place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Gressmall Atrium in Gresik, East Java.

AFF was a culinary celebration attended by 11 Executive Chefs from hotels in East Java, under the auspices of Archipelago International, with the goal of delivering culinary satisfaction to food enthusiasts throughout the country.

The participating Executive Chefs included Chef Danu from Favehotel Rungkut Surabaya, Chef Danu from The Alana Hotel Malang, Chef Agam from Aston Mojokerto Hotel & Conference Center, Chef Sinyo from Aston Bojonegoro City Hotel, Chef Hendra from favehotel Malang, Chef Hendi from Hotel NEO Gubeng, Chef Yosseano from Quest Hotel Darmo Surabaya, and Chef Hanny from NEO+ Waru Sidoarjo.

“Archipelago Food Festival is an event conducted as a roadshow in several cities across Indonesia every month throughout 2023. As an initiative to support the revival of the tourism industry, especially in the hospitality sector, it also aims to introduce culinary delights made with the finest ingredients and prepared with professional methods by the Executive Chefs from Archipelago’s hotels,” added Denny Frederick, Corporate Executive Chef of Archipelago International.

In addition to savoring a variety of Gresik’s signature culinary delights, the Archipelago Food Festival was further enriched with captivating entertainment, including performances such as the Rancangkapti dance, Boranan dance, Genjring Parti dance, and live band music.

“We are delighted to host the Archipelago Food Festival in various regions of Indonesia. Our main goal is to promote the distinctive cuisine of Gresik and involve local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) as well as vocational schools (SMK) from Gresik,” said Sari Kusumaningrum, Director of Corporate Communications & PR, Archipelago International.

The AFF event series was also enhanced with a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activity, including a cooking demo and Food & Beverage Sharing Knowledge session presented by the Corporate Executive Chef of Archipelago International and the Food & Beverage Manager of Aston Gresik Hotel & Conference Center.
