Gran Melia Jakarta Announces the Appointment of New Executive Chef Kevin Marchetti

Gran Melia Jakarta is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Marchetti as the new Executive Chef. Born and raised in Luxembourg, Chef Kevin was fascinated by cooking at a very young age. He found himself enjoying being involved in the kitchen and developed a passion for cooking. Chef Kevin brings over 15 years of five-star culinary experience to Gran Melia Jakarta, arriving from his most recent posting as Pre-Opening Executive Chef at Gran Melia Arusha, Tanzania.

Chef Kevin has worked across Europe, Africa and Asia, leading the kitchens of International Hotel Chains, including Hyatt and Accor, and Michelin-star-rated restaurants, working with Michelin-starred Chefs Peter Korner and Lea Linster in Luxemburg as well as Harald Wohlfahrt in Germany. Having trained in a 4-year full training program at the Hotel Management School in Luxembourg, Chef Kevin left school as the best student of the year. He has also won several awards and certificates while attending numerous competitions and exams.

In his new capacity, Chef Kevin will be overseeing the kitchen operations in all the dining venues of Gran Melia Jakarta and across all catering spaces of 15 function rooms, including the Jimbaran Venue. With a focus on fresh, local flavours and a drive for perfection, Chef Kevin will be elevating buffet dining at Café Gran Via to new heights in creating a new Sunday brunch concept.

He will also bring the best dishes from around the world to please even the most discerning palate. Moreover, with his wealth of experience, Chef Kevin will personalize innovative menus from intimate VIP dinners to exciting customized menus for special celebrations or gatherings.
