Celebrating 21 Years of Presence in Indonesia

Starbucks® Focuses on Building Limitless Possibilities for People, Planet and Coffee

Starbucks® in Indonesia celebrates its 21st anniversary this year by being more matured on creating limitless possibilities that focus on the people or communities we serve every day, giving back to the Earth, and coffee as its roots.

Coffee as the Foundation for Creating Connection

“As one of the world’s most important markets for the Starbucks® brand, Indonesia has played a critical role in the community through the power of coffee and the connections it creates,” said Anthony McEvoy, the leader of PT Sari Coffee Indonesia, the official licensee of the Starbucks® brand in Indonesia.

“As one of the world’s best coffee-producing countries, we also want to focus on creating limitless opportunities for the surrounding environment, and this year we are promoting local coffee taken from the slopes of Mount Batur volcano, and directly roasted at the Starbucks® Coffee Experience Center here in Bali – Starbucks® Single Origin Indonesia Bali Batur Volcano.”

“This demonstrates Indonesia’s accomplishment in roasting its own coffee and, of course, benefiting the environment by lowering carbon footprints in generating the greatest products,” he added.

Starbucks® intends to inspire consumers to interact more closely with the coffee origin by establishing its newest store in Kintamani on March 31. Starbucks® Kintamani is a new destination store that offers a wonderful view of Mount Batur in addition to its proximity to a coffee farm.

Not only that, Starbucks® also continues to strive to be closer to customers by expanding its network in several potential sub-cities such as Pematang Siantar, Palangka Raya, Garut, Kudus, Salatiga, and several major cities on the island of Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and other eastern Indonesian islands.

Starbucks® Celebrates 21 Years in Indonesia on All Platforms

Starbucks® currently operates more than 540 stores in Indonesia and continues to expand ties with customers in all channels, including digital platforms.
