Alila Hotels & Resorts is renowned for creating experiences that offer guests intimate interactions with the people, cultures and natural beauty of each destination, while dedicated to being responsible members of the host communities and treading lightly on the environment.
Alila Anji, as the first Alila property in China, takes pride in supporting sustainable tourism and reducing its carbon footprint through the use of biodegradable materials. The resort takes great care in minimizing its environmental impact by using primarily local materials and working with the landscape to preserve indigenous ecosystems. Since April 2018, Alila Anji has discontinued serving plastic straws with beverages in support of the #NoPlasticStraws campaign.
In July this year, Alila Anji achieved the internationally recognised Earth Check Bronze certification. Around the same time, CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China) formally approved Earth Check as a certification program in China’s blossoming sustainable tourism industry. It is worth mentioning that Alila Anji has achieved energy savings of over 12% per available room and savings of over 10% in overall hotel energy consumption this year as compared to last year.
“The team at Anji has worked hard to reach this milestone, which demonstrates Alila’s continuing commitment to integrating and preserving its natural surrounds,” stated Kenneth Fong, VP Engineering & Sustainability.
Recently, Alila Anji was selected as the destination for the bi-annual Tesla Owners Club retreat, with tailor-made banquet and family-fun activities. Already more than 11 percent of all Tesla owners in China are based in Zhejiang province. Meanwhile Tesla’s presence in China is growing at a rapid rate and the introduction of the new Tesla Model 3 will surely bring the brand from strength to strength.
“To celebrate the launch of the new model, Alila Anji is proud to have installed onsite two Tesla charging stations. This is our next green initiative, taking sustainability to the next level. As many of our guests are already driving to property, why not encourage more electric car drivers to come to a place of beautiful countryside and clean air like Alila Anji?” announced Jack Widagdo, General Manager of Alila Anji.
Tesla owners can now look forward to taking a relaxing break at the resort while enjoying the convenience of being able to recharge their cars. Each station offers 70KWh of power and can fully charge a vehicle in six hours. To celebrate this eco-partnership, Alila Anji has tailored an exclusive Tesla Drive-and-Stay Package, entitling Tesla owners to a free upgrade to the next room category upon check- in, plus a 20% discount on Flexible Rates, Alila Experiences, Food & Beverage, spa treatments at Spa Alila, and the Alila Living retail line of products. All terms of this package are subject to availability and valid till 31 March 2019, excluding blackout dates at 30 December 2018 to 1 January 2019 and 4 to 10 February 2019.
