DID you know that Dubai has a thriving night life despite being a Muslim city? Dubai’s night life in fact is one the experience that you shouldn’t miss when visiting. Under the stars, Dubai’s sky terraces are the hippest spots to be. Head to the rooftops of Dubai – the ultimate place to catch a sunset over the Gulf or watch the twinkling lights of the big city. Whether you want to dance, chill, eat or admire quirky décor, there’s something for everyone.
Here are some we especially love:
Atelier M – Sky-high city views
The Dubai Marina is one of the most exquisite locations in the city, with dhows, luxury cruises and party boats slowly making their way up and down the wide canal. And the Marina is best observed from the roof of Pier 7 – a restaurant destination with themed floors in the centre of it. Atelier M occupies the top floor of Pier 7 with an opulent lounge area on one floor and a rooftop upstairs, which offers stunning vistas along with cool sounds, a dance floor and table and sofa seating. The quality Mediterranean-style menu features scallops, fresh pizza and superb pastas, which you can enjoy on the terrace downstairs or on the roof.
Luna Sky – Casual yet contemporary
Luna Sky is another venue making the most of a superb location. From this rooftop at the Four Seasons Hotel in DIFC, you can take in captivating vistas of Dubai’s financial district, the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai. There are two seating options: inside or out on the terrace. The food menu is short but well selected with a Japanese and South American feel. Simple and stylish with a real DIFC edge, this hotspot is perfect for a pre- or post-dinner catch-up and also offers an in-house DJ.
The Treehouse – A leafy oasis
Located on the top deck of the sleek Taj Dubai hotel in Business Bay, The Treehouse features a stunning backdrop and an even more stunning lighting display. The Mediterranean-infused menu, designed by Chef de Cuisine Aabhas Mehrotra, offers light tasty treats while the drinks menu is also wide-ranging. The Renaissance-style décor is unique from its seemingly random fireplace to its spacious layout. The Treehouse offers a greenhouse retreat in the middle of a bustling city.
Mercury Lounge – Cool and chic
Head to the Four Seasons in Jumeirah to find one of the coolest rooftops in Dubai – the Mercury Lounge. Yes, there are extraordinary views – on one side the stunning Downtown skyline accentuated by the Burj Khalifa and on the other the Arabian Gulf – but it’s the chilled- out atmosphere and comfortable seating that makes this one of Dubai’s best rooftops. Savour an elegant selection of Mediterranean-inspired bites including sharing plates and light entrees, and an extensive drink menu accompanied by a chilled vibe from the resident DJ and a transfixing saxophonist.
Al Sarab – A desert escapes
One of Dubai’s signature experiences is watching day turn to night over the desert dunes. The bright orange horizon transforms to a night-sky full of stars in just a short drive from Dubai’s vibrant city lights. Bab Al Shams’ rooftop terrace, Al Sarab, boasts dimly lit lanterns and earthy clay décor perfect for a chilled-out vibe away from it all. Enjoy the sounds of Arabian live music in this magical escape for a uniquely Dubai experience.
Tomo – Beautiful skyline views
Cakrawala kota yang memukau There are several outstanding Japanese restaurants in town, and Tomo is right up there. The only thing on par with the food here is the sweeping vista of Dubai’s spectacular cityscape that greets you upon entry into the lounge. Enjoy stunning views of Dubai’s iconic skyline, including the awe-inspiring Burj Khalifa, and world-class fresh Japanese cuisine with a modern but characteristic ambience.
