‘A Bear’s Life with Belmond’ New Travel Packages

To celebrate the release of PADDINGTON 2 on 10th November 2017 and Belmond’ British Pullman’s starring role in the film, Belmond announces ‘A Bear’s Life Belmond with adventurous travel packages to the famous bear’s homeland, Peru.

From marmalade treats served on a rooftop overlooking Lima’s beachfront, to spotting where Peruvian oranges grow along route to Machu Picchu; travelling with Belmond provides inspiration to fill even the most bumper-edition of Paddington’s travel scrapbook.

The new four and seven night packages aptly begin in Lima – where Paddington’s Aunt Lucy lives at the city’s most stylish address, Belmond Miraflores Park, which overlooks the seafront and bustling promenade. From the hotel’s rooftop, children can gaze across the ocean, dreaming of their upcoming adventure as they feast on sticky marmalade breakfast treats and get into character with their very own red bush hat courtesy of Belmond.

From Lima, the journey takes guests to Cusco, and one of the city’s most treasured landmarks – Belmond Hotel Monasterio. Families can explore the city on foot or spend time meandering through the hotel’s stunning courtyard, cloisters and flower-lined walkways, stopping to make a wish at the 300-year old cedar tree and mythical fountain. After a long day of sightseeing, children are invited to make bear-shaped cookies with the chef – a sweet-tasting stopover to help bear cubs re-charge for their next escapade.

Next on the itinerary is one of the most highly anticipated experiences in Peru; a journey to Machu Picchu aboard Belmond Hiram Bingham – the country’s most famous 1920s-inspired vintage train. Just as Paddington arrived into London by train, families will arrive by rail in unrivalled luxury, through wild river canyons and lush jungle, to the heart of the Inca Empire.

Passengers will be gifted a special jar of organic marmalade with a map to spot where the most succulent Peruvian oranges are grown along route.

Before taking the train back down from Machu Picchu, guests spend a night at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel to be situated at the gates of the ancient citadel and overlooking the breath taking sacred peaks. Hidden within the tropical plantation and garden terrace are jars of marmalade, just waiting to be discovered by mini explorers.

Guests on the longer seven-night package are transported to the heart of the Sacred Valley and oasis of calm Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, exclusively located on the shores of the Urubamba River. A special Paddington-themed ‘movies under the stars’ night offers family fun by the wild-running river, with cosy woollen blankets provided to wrap up warm, popcorn waiter service and dessert bar inspired by the film.

MONTH OF THE MOVIES

During November and December 2017 guests wishing to embrace the magic of the film will be able to join in the fun as Paddington-themed activities take place daily across Belmond’s Peruvian portfolio. At Belmond Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco families can enjoy a Paddington-afternoon tea time in the hotel’s ‘secret garden’ with preservative sandwiches in generous supply. All activities are offered complimentary to guests staying overnight at any of the six hotels and/or travelling aboard Belmond Hiram Bingham.

TRAVEL CLOSER TO HOME

For those wishing to experience Belmond a little closer to come – Belmond British Pullman, the luxury day train that plays a starring role in the sequel of the family favourite offers steam-hauled Paddington Afternoon Tea journeys departing London Victoria Station on 2nd December 2017, 16th February and 7th April 2018.
