Aman Indonesia Welcomes The Festive Season

0

As 2020 draws to a close, there is no better time to come together and to make lasting memories. For Aman, the festive season heralds a time to celebrate culture, support local communities and give back to the natural environments that sustain us.

Welcoming this year’s festive season, Aman’s resorts in Indonesia invite guests to reconnect and create meaningful memories with the introduction of new retreats. The Time Together Exclusive Retreat and the Space to Reconnect Exclusive Retreat are available until March 2021 and have been carefully crafted for Indonesian residents, providing serene sanctuaries closer to home.

Amandari Indonesia

AMANDARI

Hidden on a hillside overlooking rice terraces and the wilderness of Ayung Valley, Amandari is a spiritual haven set on sacred ground in Bali’s cultural heartland. Designed after a traditional Balinese village, the resort invites guest to personally engage with village life through a number of experiences and encounters, including complimentary cooking classes to prepare traditional Balinese dishes for the villagers; as well as joining the local farmers in the surrounding rice paddies for a hands-on insight into cultivation and harvesting during this festive season.

Each day, guests can join villager and Amandari team member, lbu Lipet as she sets off on the half-hour circuit of the stupas around the resort, making floral offerings (canang sari) to give thanks to the gods and part for good fortune.

Guests are invited on her daily journey of gratitude, to learn to make their own canang sari. Find further floral inspiration with a guided garden tour, picking flowers and foliage to create your own exotic arrangement in an expert-led workshop, or coconut-harvesting from the palms around the resort before enjoying the fresh taste of coconut water straight from the tree. Guests can also participate in helping local villagers prepare rice, ready for planting in the rice paddies.

The new Time Together Exclusive Retreat is available for two-night bookings for five suites or more together with a room upgrade and an experience built around memories taking centre stage. Begin the merriment with arrival cocktails at dusk, before spending the evening hosting a private party or barbecue by the pool – one’s own exclusive location for the night.

Celebrate to the sounds of a live DJ before arising the next day for a refreshing Ayung Valley Trek, followed by lunch and a restorative 60-minute Amandari massage for each guest featuring local Balinese ingredients to harmonize body and mind. A set dinner in the restaurant will be prepared serving cuisine with locally grown ingredients with a distinctive Indonesian flair.

In the morning, guests will experience a 60-minute morning yoga session – an opportunity to come together through movement. Complimentary children’s activities throughout the stay include Balinese Children’s Dance classes, while families can bond over additional experiences such as Canangsari workshops, Floral workshops and S’mores making around the resort’s bonfire, exchanging stories of the day gone by.

Amandari’s three-bedroom villas offer a resounding solace; a family hideaway sensitively integrated into its hillside setting, allowing guests’ focus to shift to the important practice of family wellbeingFor Villa stays of two nights or more, the Space to Reconnect Retreat offers a range of fulfilling ways to reconnect, from sundowners on arrival to an Indonesian set dinner and Balinese feast.

While morning yoga awaits, enrich the mind with a healthy cooking class in the villa and relax during a 60-minute Amandari massage. Guests will be able to enjoy a set lunch in the villa or in the restaurant. Children can also become familiar with Amandari’s surrounding local culture through activities such as a Balinese Dance Class for an all-round enriching experience.

Amankila

AMANKILA

Capturing breath-taking views of Lombok Strait, Amankila opens the door to untapped East Bali and its royal heritage. The temple inspired resort with its iconic design has a three-tiered main swimming pool that tumbles down the hillside like a cascading rice field. This season, guests are invited to join the Amankila team to support the neighbouring village of Manggis by donating unwanted books or stationery to the local school.

There will also be family-friendly craft sessions making Christmas decorations in the resort lobby, with opportunities to donate to Soul Bali, a charity that supports and empowers communities in East Bali and an initiative that Amankila has collaborated with since its establishment in 2015.

With a programme focusing on cultivating gratitude through various activities and initiatives around the resort, this year, children’s cookery classes, will encourage young guests to prepare culinary gifts for their parents as expressions of thanks. All guests are also invited to receive complimentary blessings at the hotel’s Hindu temple throughout the festive period and, for guests spending Christmas at the resort, a special mass will be held on site on 24 December.

The ultimate small group hideaway Time Together Retreat for guests occupying five Garden Suites or more will gather for a private beach Megibung dinner on arrival, where live entertainment plays as dusk turns to dawn.

Connect through local experiences on day two, with an ATV adventure through the Manggis hills before a set lunch in the restaurant, followed by a 60-minute massage provides a treat to soothe the soul. Mealtimes allow guests to share stories over farm-fresh Indonesian cuisine and a picnic breakfast at Taman Sari Bale is also included on the final morning – a further insight into this magical region. A laughing yoga session offers one last opportunity to unite, before leaving Amankila with an abundance of memories made together.

AMANJIWO

Framed by emerald-green rice plains and the peaks of the Menoreh Hills in rural Central Java, Amanjiwo lies within view of the mystical stupas of Borobudur, a Unesco World Heritage Site. The Unesco monument creates a meditative backdrop to introspective suites enclosed by garden courtyards, thatched bales and sunken outdoor baths.

Over the festive period, a variety of dance performances will take place at the resort, including the Jathilan dance performed by the children of the local villages, the legends of the Ramayana interpreted in movement by a troupe from the nearby Muntilan Regency, and the ornate and dramatic Javanese mask dance, Topeng.

This is a tradition which Amanjiwo works with local villages to keep alive from generation to generation. Just 10 minutes from Amanjiwo, the village of Klipoh is a repository of craft knowledge that dates back many centuries, with a rich tradition of ceramics in particular. The studios of local potters will be open to Aman guests, who are also invited to try their skills at the wheel. For those seeking to end the year cleansed and spiritually reinvigorated, the Tolak Balak ritual, performed by a Javanese priest supported by Amanjiwo, is one of a number of ancestral protection and purification customs practiced in Java, as the resort’s visiting anthropologist explains in a 90-minute session.

Taking place from 24-27 December guests can experience the new Journey though Java with Aman. Venturing across Java on the Kereta Api Wisata train, from the bustling capital of Jakarta to the peaceful setting of Amanjiwo.

Amanjiwo also offers the Time Together Retreat, for the booking of five Garden Suites or more in a two-night stay experience. Begin the stay by feasting on an uninterrupted private poolside dinner accompanied by an exclusive Ramayana dance performance. Cycle to a local village before indulging in a private Progo picnic and enjoy the 90-minute morning yoga and 60-minute Amanjiwo massage along with set dinner. Family groups can enjoy the bespoke itinerary that is tailored to suit guests of all ages with a range of complimentary children’s activities including kite making, horse riding and painting available at the resort.

AMAN VILLAS AT NUSA DUA

Peaceful retreats located on Bali’s southernmost peninsula, the Aman Villas at Nusa Dua are set within palm-fringed grounds and gardens, with swimming pools flanked by aromatic frangipani trees. With an idyllic white-sand beach close by, and endless bespoke dining options, it’s an ideal destination for families to rest, reconnect, and celebrate the season.

Ten minutes away in Nusa Dua’s Puja Mandala worship complex, the Catholic Church Community is working hard to help local families who have been affected by the pandemic. The Aman Villas team is supporting their efforts and invites guests to participate in the community initiative through donations.

Guests at Aman Villas at Nusa Dua also get the chance to experience the Spaces to Reconnect Retreat, in the five- and six-bedroom villas for a group escapism in an exclusive environment. The two-night stay includes a range of Aman experiences, from private in-villa barbeques at the pool with 3-hours of live entertainment, to private yoga sessions or golf and visits to nearby locations.

Experiencing each moment together as a group, Aman Villas at Nusa Dua provides a family-friendly base where the scent of frangipani fills the air. A 60-minute massage is also included for each guest, ensuring much needed relaxation in this adventure filled stay.

Amanwana

AMANWANA

Overlooking the turquoise, coral-rich Flores Sea, the wilderness hideaway offers full-board accommodation in 12 luxury guest tents, set in consummate seclusion between jungle and shore. Amanwana’s naturally paradisal setting on Moyo Island is enchanting in all seasons, yet during the festive days and nights, it transforms into a magical hideaway, providing a base on which to make unforgettable memories with loved ones.

At Amanwana, children will relish the opportunity to join daily snorkelling trips while cultural performances showcase the region’s heritage, with the opportunity for guests to show appreciation to the local community. Discover the flavours of Moyo with exclusively arranged culinary experiences including a Sumbawa Feast and Kaki Lima Dinner made with homegrown produce, before ending the year on a high with sunset cocktails followed by a New Year’s Eve Dinner and dancing late into the night.

Guests can participate in supporting the Moyo Conservation Fund which was established as a way for visitors to contribute towards the local community and conservation efforts. The fund’s initiatives range from protecting the coral reefs to building a school in Labuan Aji Village.

For those seeking an extra-special escape, Amanwana’s A Camp of Your Own offer, allows guests to experience the camp on their very own. Through booking eight or more tents for four or six nights, the island’s abundant natural treasures become exclusive, with a range of inclusions to make for a private and memorable stay.

Amandira

AMANDIRA

Inspired by the Phinisi sailing vessels of old, twin-masted Amandira was custom designed then handcrafted from local hardwoods by Konjo artisans. Travelling under sail as well as by motor, she combines the ancient romance of the spice trade with cutting-edge contemporary amenities.

Offering three spacious king-bed cabins and two bunk bed cabins, Amandira can accommodate up to 10 guests to some of the most beautiful, biodiverse and unspoilt marine environments in the world. Over the festive season, on its journey through the archipelago, Amandira can call by the West Papua village of Arborek – a renowned pioneer in community-driven marine preservation. There, guests can see some of the most extraordinary undersea landscapes simply by diving off the pier; to browse and buy the villager’s intricately crafted hats and string bags (noken); and to witness music and dance performances in exchange for donations of supplies or funding to help locals maintain their precious and pristine marine environment.

RAKxa Officially Opens in Bangkok’s ‘Green Lung’

0

This brand new fully integrative wellness and medical treat will offer a transformation experience through three- to-fourteen day programmes in the heart of a jungle clad island across from Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River

RAKxa is thrilled to announce the completion of the first phase of its opening in Bangkok, Thailand and looks forward to welcoming international guests as soon as it’s safe to do so. Set in Bangkok’s preserved ‘Green Lung’, a protected jungle-clad island on the Chao Phraya River, RAKxa will deliver tailored wellness programmes designed by certified medical doctors combining advanced medical treatments with revered holistic therapies alongside renowned Thai hospitality, resulting in a world-class medical destination.

Guests can expect 27 villas and one restaurant Unam when visiting from 1st December, with a further  33 villas and two residences set to open in 2021 in the second phase along with an extended menu of activities and treatments, and a second restaurant serving speciality Asian cuisine. With long- term tourist visas for foreign travel to Bangkok available for 90 day stays and longer, what better time to plan that winter- sun wellness relocation.

This ground-breaking enhanced wellness retreat is the first of its kind in Thailand and promises a fully transformative experience through personalised three-to-fourteen day programmes with long-term health goals in mind. RAKxa’s programmes include Detox, Weight Management, Gut Health, Mobilisation, De-Stress, Facial Solution, Body Solution, Facial & Body Solution, Immunity Booster and a Discover RAKxa programme.

RAKxa’s transformative experience begins at home and carries on long after guests leave, unearthing a complete blueprint of health that enables certified medical doctors from VitalLife, a subsidiary of Bumrungrad International Hospital, and holistic therapists to prescribe a precise treatment plan based on one of the 10 packages available.

VitalLife medical doctors work alongside experts of time-honoured healing disciplines in RAKxa’s Holistic Wellness Centre, bringing science and tradition together. RAKxas’ holistic treatments span Traditional Thai Medicine (TTM), Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurvedic treatments and energy healing practices.

Completing the wellness journey is a high-tech medical gym with Olympic athlete training equipment, hydrothermal spa facilities, an anti-inflammatory food philosophy, a cleansing tea lounge, an organic garden, and an enticing menu of workshops and activities. RAKxa will offer 60 private villas and two residences each situated by a lake surrounded by flourishing botanical gardens all in neutral tones to ensure a gentle atmosphere, creating an environment to heal and restore.

Located within a lush and expansive botanical garden, RAKxa is separated from the rest of Bangkok by a winding river, accessible by both boat and car, just an hour from both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports, yet it feels like a world away. RAKxa has restored and repaired the ecosystem in an area of Bang Krachao that had been degraded and damaged over time.

From planting thousands of local trees and flowers, soil regeneration, and waste clearance, to supporting local farmers and gardeners in organic farming methods, the RAKxa concept goes above and beyond. Abundant with fresh air and with gazes of green in every direction, the rural location is like stepping back in time, to a Bangkok before sky-scrapers and buzzing traffic.

Local Design at RAKxa

A mix of traditional materials and crafts have been used in a contemporary styling to create a medical wellness retreat that has avoided the ‘spa’ look whilst ensuring the crisp, neutral tones are not associated with a hospital. Traditional materials include rattan, bamboo, reclaimed wood, earth-wear, ceramics, brass, jute, mulberry paper and water hyacinth. Light colours of teal and gentle greens are used throughout the premises to soothe and restore an element of calm.

Showcasing the serene location next to the river, traditional river boats decorate the gym area as well as elements such as old balers used to decorate the walls. RAKxa uses objects throughout the premises that may not traditionally be considered art, such as teapots, chairs and stools.

These all have a sense of place and are considered as traditional Thai decor, based on the countries’ history. One area proudly displays 72 teapots along a shelving unit, all made from a local southern Thai pottery maker and each unique to one another. Using local artisans to create the rugs and woven wall decor, RAKxa exemplifies traditional Thai styling, creating the ultimate wellness retreat where Thai hospitality oozes through the design.

RAKxa Music – Wellness on Every Level

The creator of the wellness music at RAKxa, Paul Sirisant, one of Thailand’s leading DJs who is considered to be one of the most respected music executives in the industry, has curated a mix of uplifting, soothing, sleep inducing and calming binaural beats that are played around RAKxa, to help along the healing journey.

Created with an Asian element running through them with the sounds of gongs, chimes and traditional instruments from the East, these beats change depending on the treatment or the particular programme each guest is on – reinforcing the RAKxa philosophy: to personalise each guest’s individual experience.

RAKxa means to heal, and this ethos runs through the entire retreat creating a full sensory journey encompassing the sights: surrounded by green tropical jungle, the smells: natures scent, aromatherapy from treatments and the delicious smells of the cuisine, the touches: healing touch of the skilled therapists, the tastes: delicious healthy dishes, and the sounds: the curated binaural beats.

Nightly rates at RAKxa start from $2,000 per person for the Immunity Booster Package, with a minimum of a three-night stay.

Start Winning by Playing the Slots with the Highest RTP

0

Of all the factors that need to be checked when choosing a slot, none is more important than a return to player (RTP). Fancy graphics and epic bonus rounds are great, but they can’t compete with this defining marker. Ironically, although the most important faucet in the game, RTP is one of the most overlooked features.

Most players choose their game based on the attractiveness of the theme, which is a crucial mistake. On top of being a beginner step, ignoring RTP sets the stage for big losses in the long run.

To really get the most out of your online casino time, it’s important to check which games have the highest RTPs. The RTP determines which percentage of the bet is ultimately paid back to the player.

In theory, a game with a 96% RTP would return 96 of every $ 100 to the player. This variable is calculated in the long run with all the ups and downs that come during game play. For this reason, players can lose all their money or win big before experiencing a payback.

In order to show which slot games are the most profitable for players, we dive deep and do some research. After exploring the catalog of the best online casinos, we were able to identify which games paid the most to players.

Neither of our findings have been among the most played hits, which is why they need to show off. Our articles feature the games with the best odds for players, and potentially spark a gaming revolution.

So stop wasting money on well-made traps and start winning big playing the slot with the highest RTP!

Online Slots with the Highest RTP

You don’t have to be an astrologer to fall in love with this star themed game. NextGen uses vibrant graphics and a staggering bonus round to take players deep into the solar system. Offering 3 lines, 5 reels and 10 paylines, the amount of action in this game is unlimited. Each star combination creates a different constellation that makes an equally unique payout.

As well as providing multiple ways to win, NextGen fills the game with surprises. In Starmania, the Wild Symbol can double the total bet by up to 200 times and trigger a bonus round.

Users can also take advantage of the Gambling Feature to guess the colors and types of cards to double or multiply their prizes. This impressive number of variables makes this game an adventure to play. Their generous RTP is just as important, so take a look at the stars differently!

This highly acclaimed release proves that the vampire theme is far from being out of date. Developed by NetEnt and featuring some truly surprising surprises, Blood Suckers cannot be ignored by any respectable player.

Its 25 paid lines are complimented by a creepy soundtrack and a plethora of symbols from the Victorian Vampire era. Apart from adding a hefty dose of scatter wins and free spins, NetEnt makes memorable bonus rounds.

Here players can pick up coffins and kill vampires with wooden poles. The odds are in the player’s favor during this quest, which makes this adventure well worth it!

When it comes to returning to players, this slot stole the show. From design to theme, Swedish game developer Thunderkick defied all rules when creating this game. Instead of confining the symbols to the reels, they let them loose on the high seas.

The game takes place on a 15th century screen map filled with potential winning combinations. This creative backdrop sets the stage for the ship’s wild symbol, mermaid payouts, and a fun bonus round.

This game does an excellent job of standing out, so feel free to embark on this lucrative journey!

Best Casino Restaurant: The Ritz, London

The Ritz is one of the best and largest casino restaurants in London, renowned for being popular with top players and big celebrities, and offering a large selection of casino activities.

Apart from games, Ritz restaurants can also be found in casinos; a Michelin-starred restaurant where guests can dine in luxurious surroundings that include marble columns, gleaming chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking London’s beautiful Green Park.

This restaurant has been featured in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants. Some of the dishes on the menu include lobster, Norfolk crab, veal, duck, sea bass and many more.

Executive Chef John Williams WBE and his team source only the finest and greatest ingredients from across the country, ensuring that guests are offered only the highest quality food.

Victoria Grosvenor’s Best Casino Restaurants

Victoria Grosvenor Casino is one of the best and most popular casino restaurants located in West of Central London around the Edgware Road and Marble Arch area. The casino offers several table games for poker, roulette and blackjack, as well as slot machines and other terminals.

It is also home to The Dining Room restaurant which features stylish décor as well as two delicious menus, one of which is inspired by Arabic.

Some of the dishes available include a variety of curries, pastas and pizzas, as well as burgers, a selection of steaks, and fish dishes. Some of the items on the Arabic-inspired menu include a Shish Taouk grilled chicken dish, fried sea bass, boneless baby chicken, minced lamb kebabs as well as three choices of delicious rice dishes and appetizers.

These top three casino restaurants aren’t the only ones. There are many other casinos with restaurants throughout the city, but the ones listed above are the most popular at the moment. So why not give it a try?

Porsche Taycan Drifts Into the Guinness World Records Book

0

The Porsche Taycan has entered the Guinness World Records for the longest drift with an electric vehicle. The scene of the world record was the Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) Hockenheimring. Porsche instructor Dennis Retera did 210 laps on the 200 metre-long drift circle without the front wheels ever pointing in the same direction as the curve: after 55 minutes the sideways expert had covered a total of 42.171 kilometres.

By completing this marathon distance, Retera secured the world record for the longest continuous drift in an electric car. The average speed was 46 km/h. The record was achieved with the rear-wheel drive version of the Taycan, which is already on sale in China.

“When the driving stability programmes are switched off, a powerslide with the electric Porsche is extremely easy, especially of course with this model variant, which is driven exclusively via the rear wheels,” says Dennis Retera.

“Sufficient power is always available. The low centre of gravity and the long wheelbase ensure stability. The precise design of the chassis and steering allows for perfect control at all times, even when moving sideways”.

The Dutch is now the Chief Instructor at the Porsche Experience Centre Hockenheimring, but previously competed in karting, single seaters and endur- ance races.

“Nevertheless, it was also very tiring for me to keep my concentration high for 210 laps, especially as the irrigated asphalt of the drift circuit does not provide the same grip everywhere. I concentrated on controlling the drift with the steering – this is more efficient than using the accelerator pedal and reduces the risk of spinning.”

The attempt took place under the supervision of Guinness World Records official record judge Joanne Brent on the irrigated driving dynamics area of the PEC. Brent has been supervising record attempts of all kinds for Guinness World Records for over five years.

“We’ve had some drift records, but with an electric sports car it’s something very special for us too. Here Porsche has done real pioneering work,” she said.

The Guinness expert meticulously documented the record with a whole range of technical aids and other independent experts: before the test, a local land surveyor measured the 80-metre diameter area of the Porsche Experience Centre with millimetre precision.

GPS and yaw rate sensors within the vehicle were used for documentation purposes, as was a camera installed on the roof of the track’s control tower, with which the record ride was filmed.

Another independent expert was Denise Ritzmann. Prior to the record attempt, the engineer confirmed the standard and roadworthy condition of the pre series Taycan with rear-wheel drive on behalf of testing organisation DEKRA.

Ritzmann knows all about drifting: she was European drifting champion in 2018 and 2019 and was also responsible for ensuring the Taycan remained in a permanent drift throughout the record attempt.

“You can see at a glance whether the front wheels are pointing in a different direction to the curve. As long as this is the case, the car is drifting,” she explained. Together with Brent, she also counted the laps completed during the record attempt.

The Porsche Taycan is already a record holder in many other disciplines: whether it is the gruelling 24-hour endurance run over 3,425 km on the high-speed track in Nardò; the best time in its class of 7:42 minutes on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife or the 26 sprints from a standing start to 200 km/h at the airfield in Lahr – the record statistics of the first all-electric sports car from Porsche make impressive reading.

About the Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) at Hockenheimring

The PEC at Hockenheimring has just celebrated its first birthday: on 13 October 2019, the 170,000 square metre site in the heart of the race track was opened. It houses a customer experience centre, a handling track, six driving dynamics areas and an off-road course.

The PEC at Hockenheimring is the second German centre after Leipzig. Other PECs are located in Atlanta, Le Mans, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Silverstone. The eighth and largest PEC is currently being built in Franciacorta, Italy. The opening is planned for mid 2021.

About Guinness World Records

The history of Guinness World Records began on 10 November 1951, when Sir Hugh Beaver (1890-1967), Managing Director of the Guinness Brewery in Ireland, accompanied a hunt. After animated discussion, the hunters couldn’t find any reference in any book to indicate which bird is the fastest in Europe.

This experience gave Sir Hugh the idea for a promotional campaign designed to stimulate conversation in pubs. Guinness Superlatives was founded on 30 November 1954 and the first edition of the Guinness Book of Records was published in 1955.

The database currently contains over 53,000 records. Every year about 8,000 new records are added from around the world. The Guinness World Records Book is currently published in over 100 countries and more than 40 languages. A total of over 143 million copies have been sold so far.

About the Porsche Taycan

With the first all-electric Taycan sports car, Porsche entered a new era in 2019 and, since then, has consistently expanded its product range in the field of electric mobility.

The four-door sports saloon is a unique package of typical Porsche performance, connectivity and complete suitability for everyday use. State of the art production methods and the quality of the Taycan have set the standard in terms of sustainability and digitalisation.
