Simply Magnetic — A Sweet Beginning for METT Singapore

Some places you discover. Others draw you in. And METT Singapore, officially opening its doors on October 28, 2025, is unmistakably one of the latter. Tucked amid the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park, this newly transformed hotel marks a fresh chapter for a historic landmark — a sanctuary that feels relaxed yet refined, modern yet full of soul. It’s where heritage meets a new rhythm of life.

To celebrate its debut, METT Singapore unveiled a short film titled “Simply Magnetic” — a charming, whimsical tale featuring two unlikely stars: a sunbed and a pool umbrella.

A Film with Heart — Not Just a Gimmick

Directed with humor and tenderness, Simply Magnetic follows the lighthearted journey of this inseparable pair as they wander through the streets of Lion City. From meandering under the tropical canopy of Fort Canning to getting delightfully lost in the park’s green embrace, the film tells a story of curiosity, connection, and the pull of destiny — or perhaps, of a truly magnetic place.

Along the way, the sunbed drifts past L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, the hotel’s homage to coastal Italian dining, while the playful umbrella twirls down the corridors, catching the attention of amused staff and guests alike. Eventually, the duo finds their way back home — by the pool, framed by Singapore’s glittering skyline.

“We wanted to capture the energy, warmth, and charm of METT — the way it connects with people naturally,” says Christophe Hobeika, Executive Director of Hotels & Resorts at Sunset Hospitality Group. “The film embodies the essence of the METT lifestyle: effortless, social, and irresistibly magnetic.”

Adding a touch of authenticity, the film uses hand-operated mechanical props — no CGI, just clever craftsmanship — perfectly reflecting the human warmth and sincerity that define the brand.

Where Heritage Meets a New Energy

METT Singapore brings something rare to the city: a balance between colonial charm and contemporary energy. With 84 light-filled rooms and suites, the interiors by Jeffrey Wilkes reinterpret luxury through a fresh lens — airy, grounded, and seamlessly connected to nature.
