Barça Academy Camps Jakarta Officially Launched: 72 Young Indonesian Footballers Begin 5 Days of Intensive Barça Experience Training in Sentul City, Bogor

Held at the Teh Botol Ayo Arena in Sentul City, Bogor, Barça Academy Camps Jakarta has officially debuted in Indonesia. The first day kicked off with an Opening Ceremony followed by the initial training session on the field. This intensive five-day program, running from June 23 to 27, 2025, is tailored for children and teenagers, combining classroom sessions and hotel accommodations to deliver a holistic Barça Experience.

Kendy Chandra, Director of Medio Sports Agency and Project Manager of Barça Academy Camps Jakarta, stated that bringing the program to life was the result of a long struggle culminating in collaboration with one of the world’s top football clubs: FC Barcelona—a club not only globally recognized for its achievements but deeply loved by Indonesian football fans.

“We’ve been fully booked since March—72 participants registered, and unfortunately we couldn’t expand the quota. The enthusiasm was overwhelming, because everyone knows FC Barcelona is one of the greatest clubs in the world with a powerful fanbase and an inspiring playing philosophy,” Kendy explained.

He also emphasized Medio Sports Agency’s ambition to become a gateway for Indonesian youth talent to grow further, including by providing access to training in countries like Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.

Meanwhile, one of Barça Academy’s coaches, Pau Gordillo, shared his excitement during the first training day. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the transformation these participants will undergo over the next five days. I’m sure they’ll enjoy every moment, not just developing their playing skills, but also evolving their mindset and character. These are the values we uphold at Barça.”

Gordillo added that the first day’s training centered on space management, how to maintain effective spacing between players, read teammates’ movements, and grasp the dynamics of the game as a whole.

“The goal isn’t just to score, but to shape players who can fully understand and master the game,” he explained.

The program includes eight training sessions over the five days, each lasting two hours, divided into four 25-minute segments with rest breaks.

The 72 participants are grouped into six teams based on age and skill level. Each team is coached by local trainers who have completed a Coach Seminar, assisted by coaches and coordinators directly from Barcelona. In addition to on-field practice, participants attend classroom sessions focused on tactical theory and sports injury awareness.
