Three decades of legendary vintages. One Michelin-starred chef. A night where wine and gastronomy meet their match in Phuket.
In a bold move that blends the art of haute cuisine with the prestige of world-class winemaking, PRU — Phuket’s only Michelin-starred restaurant — is partnering with Penfolds to host an exclusive one-night-only event: the “3 Decades of Grange Wine Dinner.” Set for 20 May 2025, the evening promises more than just a meal; it’s an invitation to taste time itself.
Tucked away beside the opulent Trisara Resort, PRU is the brainchild of Executive Chef Jimmy Ophorst, who has quietly redefined fine dining on the island with his radical “community-to-fork” ethos. Everything served at PRU has a story — from ingredients grown at their own organic farm, Pru Jampa, to handcrafted elements sourced from trusted local artisans. It’s not just about sustainability here; it’s about terroir, narrative, and a deeply personal expression of Thai culinary culture.

For this one-night affair, PRU steps outside its familiar playbook to dance with one of the world’s most iconic wine labels — Penfolds Grange. Revered for its power, complexity, and near-mythical aging potential, Grange has defined Australian wine prestige since its inception in the 1950s. And on this evening, three different decades of Grange vintages will take center stage.
“This collaboration marks something truly special,” says Chef Jimmy. “We’re going beyond what we normally do, curating a six-course experience that not only reflects our philosophy but also celebrates the complexity and soul of these legendary wines.”

The menu is a study in balance — bold and delicate, rich and restrained. It begins with PRU’s signature King of the Fruits, a gentle prologue to the evening’s more intricate offerings. Black Crab & Green Curry follows, a vibrant dance of spice and sea paired with the 2019 Yattarna Chardonnay — crisp, floral, and quietly confident.
