Belmond Returns to Photo London with A Singular Version

Adding a global resonance, the show also includes selections from Dodgson’s journey aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, Belmond’s Southeast Asian train that slices through Malaysia’s lush interior. The pairing draws subtle comparisons: landscapes, people, moods, and the universal strangeness of watching the world pass by from a moving luxury capsule.

A NEW CHAPTER FOR NEW EYES

In tandem with the exhibition, Belmond opens submissions for the 2025 Photographic Residency, a program designed to champion emerging talent with an unfiltered view on travel. Open to all nationalities and all ages—except those already represented by galleries or agents—the Residency offers a €15,000 award, an art book published by RVB Books, and a solo exhibition.

The inaugural edition drew more than 800 applications and crowned Cecy Young as its first resident. This year, a new jury (TBA) will once again seek out photographic voices that don’t just capture destinations—but reimagine them entirely.

TRAVEL, REDISCOVERED

All of this, of course, aligns with Belmond’s evolving ethos: slow luxury. With a portfolio that spans from the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to the Copacabana Palace, and from Peruvian peaks to the Italian Riviera, Belmond doesn’t just take you places—it asks you to feel them. To really look. To rediscover awe.

So whether you’re a collector, a nomad, or simply someone who knows the value of a well-cut image, Photo London 2025—and I Lost My Train of Thought—might just be your boarding call.
