72 Indonesian Youth Footballers Prepare to Join Barça Academy Camps Jakarta

Seventy-two young Indonesian football talents are gearing up for the highly anticipated Barça Academy Camps Jakarta, scheduled to take place from June 23 to June 27, 2025, at Teh Botol Ayo Arena, Sentul City, Bogor.

In collaboration with Medio Sports Agency, FC Barcelona—renowned for its meticulous selection of partners—is bringing this elite football training program to Indonesia. Three esteemed coaches from Barça Academy Spain will join six local coaches to lead both classroom and on-field training sessions for children and teenagers.

“These promising young players, aged 8 to 18, hail from Jakarta’s metropolitan area, Yogyakarta, Samarinda, Jambi, Balikpapan, Makassar, and even Florida, USA. They are eagerly anticipating the full Barça experience at the Jakarta camps,” said Kendy Chandra, Director of Medio Sports Agency and Project Manager of Barça Academy Camps Jakarta.

“With my deep admiration for FC Barcelona, bringing Barça Camps to Jakarta has been a long-time dream of mine. However, it wasn’t an easy journey—it took two years of dedicated efforts to earn Barça’s trust. Thanks to our experience in organizing football camps for Valencia, Atlético, and Everton, as well as other sports initiatives, Barça finally agreed to partner with us for this Jakarta camp in June 2025,” Kendy added.

Carlos Palacin Domeng, Global Business Development Head for Barça Academy, highlighted Indonesia’s strong enthusiasm for football and the club itself.

“I am thrilled to collaborate with Medio Sports Agency, which has demonstrated a high level of commitment and professionalism in organizing this program. These young footballers will gain valuable experience, spending a week fully immersed in the ‘Barça Experience’—not just as players, but as part of our football club. They will learn methodologies successfully applied at La Masia, our prestigious youth academy in Spain,” said Carlos.

Before the camp officially begins, a Coach Seminar will be held, where Barça coaches will share training materials to be implemented throughout the Jakarta camp.

“From a technical perspective, we will focus on refining gameplay strategies for effectiveness and efficiency, while also emphasizing character-building and instilling a strong competitive mindset in players—starting from the moment the referee blows the whistle,” explained Lingga Saputra, an Indonesian coach closely involved in Barça Camps Jakarta.

Philip Henderson, a 10-year-old participant selected for this program, expressed his excitement about this unique opportunity.

“I want to enhance my attacking and defensive skills while sharpening my decision-making abilities on the field,” said Philip.

Designed to develop technical skills, tactical intelligence, and key values such as teamwork and sportsmanship, Barça Academy Camps Jakarta is committed to shaping the future of football stars. The program also lays the foundation for potential expansion, with hopes of establishing a permanent Barça Academy in Indonesia—an essential step toward fostering the next generation of talented players.
