Restoring Her Name: Kasmayuni Challenges Her DPO Status and One-Sided Accusations

The name Kasmayuni, also known as Yuni Terryo (46), has once again drawn public attention. Recently declared as a fugitive (Daftar Pencarian Orang or DPO) by the Bogor Police, Yuni is now speaking out, questioning the legal basis of that status and calling out what she claims are biased narratives surrounding her case.

Yuni’s legal counsel, Karina Mastha, argues that the DPO status was “hastily assigned” and not based on a proper assessment of her client’s actions. “Yuni never absconded. She remains contactable and cooperative,” Karina said. (Read also Rea Wiradinata Implicated in Expanding Legal Case Involving Kasmayuni).

Screenshots of WhatsApp messages circulating online reveal an even more troubling allegation: one of the complainants claimed to have “spent a lot of money” to ensure Kasmayuni would be placed on the DPO list. The message suggests potential irregularities in the legal process, triggering a broader discussion about the integrity of criminal investigations.

Another conversation—allegedly between the complainant and Yuni’s ex-husband, Terryo Sitorus—hints at a possible personal agenda behind the viral spread of the case. In the exchange, Terryo is portrayed not as a neutral party, but as someone possibly fueling the media storm against his former spouse.

“If proven true, this raises a red flag,” said a legal analyst Jakarta Jive interviewed. “A personal vendetta using legal instruments endangers the principle of justice.”

Yuni’s side denies all accusations of fraud and embezzlement. She maintains her innocence and insists that she, too, was a victim—specifically of a woman named Rea Wiradinata, whom she had previously reported in 2021.

In an ironic twist, Rea has since been reported by at least two other complainants in separate legal cases, and was recently declared bankrupt through a Suspension of Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) case filed by Noverizky Tri Putra. Rea’s assets have been seized, her bank accounts frozen, and she has been banned from international travel.

As the legal drama unfolds, public interest intensifies. What began as a case of alleged fraud has now morphed into a multi-layered legal and personal battle, involving counter-reports, marital fallout, and questions of judicial fairness.

For now, Yuni waits. So does the public. Will her name be cleared—or buried further beneath the weight of public suspicion?
