Born and raised in Spain, Chef Oskar Urzelai Lazarobaster brings over 30 years of culinary expertise to Txoko Restaurant Jakarta. With a background in prestigious establishments worldwide, including 3-star Michelin restaurants, Chef Oskar oversees all culinary operations, meticulously crafting menus that showcase both the culture and gastronomy of Spain.
His journey began in renowned hotels and restaurants across Spain, Cuba, Egypt, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, the UK, and Southeast Asia before making his mark in Indonesia. As Executive Sous Chef in Bali and Jakarta’s five-star hotels, Chef Oskar deepened his mastery of Indonesian cuisine and hospitality.
In 2019, driven by his passion for Basque gastronomy. Here, he continues to enchant diners with his personal touch and signature dishes, celebrating cultural roots and sustainable culinary practices.
Chef Oskar Urzelai graduated from the Hotel & Restaurant College in San Sebastian, Spain, and actively participates in gastronomic events worldwide, reflecting his commitment to excellence and sustainability.
