MIRAH Investment & Development’s eclectic venue is led by Swedish chef Kim Jonsson
MIRAH Investment & Development’s metropolitan Canggu eatery KONG was opened on September 1, 2021 and is continuing to make its mark on the Balinese food scene. The contemporary Bistro hosts a European-inspired menu designed by Executive Chef Kim Jonsson, a man with 18 years-experience in fine dining across Europe, including the Michelin Star-awarded Gothenburg’s ‘28+’.
Kim has dreamt up a creative range of dishes, ranging from bar snacks to a generous a la carte portion. He says; “With KONG I created an eclectic menu with inspiration from my travels across Europe. This makes the menu ever-changing and new. We have a few signature dishes, including our homemade ravioli stuffed with butter-poached bamboo lobster, and the Swedish brown butter waffles with homemade smoked salmon.”

Dishes are crafted from the freshest of ingredients, with local suppliers and sustainability in mind. “I like to work with local seafood,” says Kim, “and Bali Sustainable is one of our best suppliers.”
KONG’s elegant interiors are just as memorable as the restaurant’s sophisticated menu. The stylised venue sits within a colonial-style building on JL. Pantai Berawa, with wooden shutters and inner archways scattered throughout in an architectural nod to 1920s Singapore. Wood surfaces are fringed by navy washed walls and polished white floors, and accented by velvet and wood furniture.
