Converse and A-Cold-Wall Usher in the Aeon Active CX

Fueled by Converse’s CX toolkit of pinnacle comfort materials and technologies, the Aeon Active CX defies time and gives back energy through a precise exploration of ergonomics that deliver new comfort, form, breathability and stance.

The Aeon Active CX also signals a look at what Converse could look like in a future state. First introduced in 2020, CX is changing the way Converse products are made, look and feel by engineering new comfort benefits, ease of wear and a progressive design ethos to fuel movement.

When concepting the new silhouette, designers gravitated to the running space –which has long been a source for comfort standards in the industry –to deliver a distinctly Converse take on a lifestyle runner. 

The Aeon Active CX delivers the most responsive, lightweight foam from Converse to-date. A stretch bootie construction and exaggerated heel kick allow wearers to get in and out of the shoe easier, while a CX foam drop-in sits underfoot, encapsulated by an EVA foam midsole to deliver all-day comfort.

When the wearer’s foot is inside of the product, the weight of foot expands the EVA foam midsole, so that with each move energy keeps coming back to the center, enabling long-lasting energy return as you walk.

The rounded lines of retro Converse sneakers also inspired a novel approach to material layering on the upper, which provide breathability, ergonomic foot lockdown, and a stylistic familiarity while nodding to Converse’s performance footwear of days past.
