Nippon Paint Officially Acquires and Introduce Selleys and V-tech in Indonesia
Setting up its manufacturing plant in Indonesia 52 years ago, Nippon Paint has gained wide recognition as The Coatings Expert, a total solution for paints and coatings in architecture, automotive, industry, protection and marine. Focusing on building a sustainable future through innovation and human-based development has driven Nippon Paint to deliver various products and services, such as Colour Scheme Service and Whatsapp Care – a solution for color inspiration and painting- as well as Silver-Ion Technology -the first antimicrobial coatings in Indonesia for medical purposes – and painting tools, such as paintbrush, roller, and washi tape.
While continuing to develop its paint and coating products, Nippon Paint expands its business by officially integrating with Selleys and Vital Technical (V-tech), two leading Australian and Malaysian manufacturers in building construction and renovation.
“Selleys and V-tech are the leading brands of adhesives, sealants for construction and home improvement, fillers and lubricants. We call these product lines SAFL (Sealants, Adhesives, Fillers, Lubricants),” says Jon Tan, Decorative Paints CEO of Nippon Paint Indonesia in a Press Conference of Virtual Launch Selleys & V-tech on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.
An independent market research by Nippon Paint shows that the retail market potential of SAFL in Indonesia may reach an estimated Rp. 6 trillion annually. Therefore, General Manager (TU Division) of Nippon Paint Indonesia, Mark Liew, says Nippon Paint is confident SAFL sales would increase in the future, with an annual growth of up to 10 percent.
For many years, Selleys and V-tech have been providing a wide range of premium quality products for every building construction and renovation purpose -from foundation, interior and exterior designs, roof, various materials such as wood, metal, and glass- in over 82 countries.
Martin Ward, Executive General Manager of Selleys says the company, as a leading SAFL manufacturer for 80 years, will continue its innovation to deliver satisfaction to consumers.
“Selleys’ market continues to expand from Australia to other countries; New Zealand, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and China. For every home improvement project, you can always rely on Selleys as it matches our tagline: If It’s Selleys, It Works!” says Martin Ward.
Managing Director of Vital Technical (V-Tech), Cheong Chee Leong adds that Vital Technical or V-tech -founded in August 2002- has been a part of Nippon Paint Group since April 2021.
“V-tech is a pioneer in eco-friendly products in ASEAN that has met Singapore Green Building Product Labelling Scheme (SGBPLS), California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) regulations, GB/T14683-2017 and Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). V-tech products have been marketed in 70 countries,” says Mr. Cheong.
Through the integration, Nippon Paint has cemented its role as the key player of total solution for construction and renovation purposes with its new tagline – beyond coatings. Nippon Paint hopes its innovations would bring positive impacts to a better future of Indonesian development economically, socially, and environmentally.
