Accor Announces the Opening of Mercure Surabaya Manyar

Accor has opened the newly built Mercure Surabaya Manyar, a modern aspirational hotel, strategically located within close proximity to business districts, financial hubs, exhibition centres, the Galaxy Mall, the Surabaya Institute of Technology and famous culinary spots. The hotel is 35 minutes away from Juanda International Airport and 30 minutes from the renowned Suramadu Bridge.

Situated in one of the city’s elite and prestigious neighbourhoods, Mercure Surabaya Manyar offers 92 rooms and suites, from Superior rooms to Executive Duplex Suites, a gym room, an all-day dining restaurant, a boardroom and a lobby bar.

Surabaya is the second-largest city in Indonesia and has grown into a sought-after business destination to explore. This provincial capital of East Java is one of the leading commercial, industrial, and economical hubs for Indonesia.

“With Mercure Surabaya Manyar, we proudly introduce our 28th Mercure-branded property in Indonesia. The opening of the hotel is a great addition to support Surabaya’s infrastructure, offering the strength of an international network, whilst delivering a genuine and locally-inspired hospitality concept,” said Garth Simmons, Chief Executive Officer, Accor, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.

All rooms and suites feature design elements accentuated with art depicting the Surabaya City of yore, while showcasing a classy modern feel. Guests can indulge with unique stay experiences in the Executive Duplex Room, which provides a separate living room area and the comfort of space and privacy.

The all-day dining restaurant Paparisa, named after the word “house” in Ambonese, offers a wide selection of delectable and authentic Indonesian dishes. Guests can savour Ambonese signature menus including the appetiser Namu-namu (spicy spring roll  with  Cakalang fish and papaya filled served with spicy sauce), Sup Ikan Kuah Kuning (yellow fish soup), Nasi Kuning (yellow rice) and Nasi Kelapa (coconut rice), and desserts such as Wajik Jagung (sweet and soft cake from fresh corn, coconut cream and brown sugar, originally a snack at the “gejik jagung or planting corn” event from farmers in Ambon) and Pie Labu (sweet and savory cake with soft and sticky textures from pumpkin and fresh milk). Ambonese Kopi Rarobang is also served with walnuts, to perfectly complement this authentic local drink.
