Charging Station in Kota Jababeka Cikarang, in Support of Electric Car Acceleration Program

To show strong commitment and support of the Government’s Electric Car Acceleration Program, Jababeka, one of the biggest developers in East of Jakarta, is collaborating with Starvo, the nation’s biggest company providing charging service for electric vehicles, to bring Electronic Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS/SPKLU; Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum) in Kota Jababeka Cikarang.

Such special and strategic moment was marked by the signing of collaboration agreement between PT Grahabuana Cikarang as the developer of Kota Jababeka Cikarang are and PT Starvo Global Energi. The agreement includes the provision, sale and installation of SPKLU/EVCS (Electric Vehicle Charging Station) focusing on Kota Jababeka area, covering commercial buildings, smart manufactures, smart homes as well as providing Autonomous EVCS stations in public and open areas.

Starvo Global Energi Director; Rachman Elly, showed his support for the vision and mission of Kota Jababeka Cikarang’s developer; not only just for the provision, sale and installation of EVCS but also participate in providing education for the public/potential property buyers for housing, warehousing, by compiling an educational program for electrification together with the real estate marketing team of Jababeka grup. By the signing of the MOU, both companies have expressed their response towards government policies stated in the domestic electric car acceleration program.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT. Grahabuana Cikarang, Sutedja S. Darmono stated that, “Hopefully with this collaboration we can provide a new level of convenience as well as indulgence for citizens of Kota Jababeka, while at the same time becoming one of our steps to turn Smart Township into a reality, ready to welcome the era of industry 4.0 society 5.0.”

Tjahjadi Rahardja as Director of PT.Grahabuana Cikarang welcomed the collaboration with Starvo Global Energi very well and stated that such a thing is in line with Jababeka’s effort and commitment in creating a green and friendly environment. Jababeka has received Green Proper award several times from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia (KLHK).

Indonesia has witnessed the rapid electric car growth due to Presidential Decree No. 55/2019, positioning the electric vehicle market right next to energy efficiency and safety as well as clean air. In respect to the new regulations, the electric car market is hoping to take 20% off of the vehicle market in 2025 and will continue to grow up to 50% in 2030.

There are 3 business models which had been previously agreed by PT. Grahabuana Cikarang and PT. Starvo Global Energi, adjusted to each party’s needs, namely; STO (Sell To Operate) which will be focusing on EV Charger provision and sale for smart manufacture warehousing complexes, SOP (Sell Own Operate) which will be focusing on EV Charger provision and sale for smart home, ITO (Invest To Operate) which will be focusing on the provision and installation of EV Charger in commercial buildings within the Kota Jababeka area. In long term, both companies had agreed to build Electric Vehicle Charging Station in public areas in order to support the economic activities within the area by combining both STO & ITO business models.

Kota Jababeka is an autonomous modern city located at the Eastern corridor of Jakarta. The development of the industrial area began in 1989. Currently, Kota Jababeka had transformed into an integrated business and housing destination with an area of 5600 acres. Kota Jababeka continues to innovate and collaborate with different parties to establish the best Smart Township Ecosystem in Indonesia.

Such step taken by PT. Grahabuana Cikarang and PT. Starvo Global Energi had also received support from the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) by participating in the signing of the Collaboration Agreement; in attendance was the Director of Electricity Business Development of the Ministry of ESDM, Ida Nuryatin Finahari.

Starvo is presenting an application (APP – Starvo) available for download at APP Store and Google Play, with the APP Starvo, EV Charger user can freely use the facilities in an “easy, go digitally” way which enables them to instantly know which stations are available and which are not, how much it will cost/KwH, connector type required, featuring cashless  payment method using e-wallet.
