Belmond Cadogan Hotel reveals a new collaboration with British artist, Nancy Cadogan, featuring an installation of the artist’s collection and limited edition face masks commissioned for guests of the hotel. Nancy will also host a ‘salon’ evening, sharing insights into her upcoming exhibition, Gusto, launching in Rome later in the year.
Five of the artist’s paintings will be on display within the hotel until the end of the year. The limited edition facemasks, available exclusively for guests staying at the hotel, feature designs from Cadogan’s breakout 2019 show, Mind Zero.
With a curated collection of over 400 pieces of contemporary art, Belmond Cadogan Hotel has a rich heritage in celebrating arts and culture; having played host to artists and creatives throughout history. The collaboration with Nancy Cadogan connects with the present moment, expressed through the artist’s observational style.
Commenting on the collaboration Nancy Cadogan said, “As galleries, museums and hotels gradually begin to reopen, it was important for me to forge a connection between art and the current state of the world. Designing the face masks for Belmond Cadogan Hotel was a way to join the global effort in protecting and preventing further cases of coronavirus so that we can all continue to enjoy and interact with these spaces.”

As the world gently returns to travel once more, there is a desire for simple pleasures and a nostalgia for fond memories – Nancy Cadogan’s work perfectly captures the sentimentality of this current mindset. Capturing the joy of thoughtful observation, Nancy’s paintings encourage mindful contemplation and a careful appreciation of the things we surround ourselves with.
They celebrate the beauty in the everyday: a chin resting on a book, mugs of team, scented lilies, splendid foliage and flowering potted plants.
Northamptonshire based Cadogan has been working from her home studio throughout the global lockdown, preparing for her new show Gusto, a new exhibition for the Keats Shelley House in Rome. She came to global attention in 2019 with two summer exhibitions – Mind Zero and Footnotes.
As part of the collaboration, Cadogan is also working on additional artworks to be exclusively exhibited at the hotel, taking inspiration from the hotel’s history with references to floral and botanical motifs detailed in the interior design.

About Nancy Cadogan
Nancy Cadogan (born in 1979) is a British figurative painter living in the UK. She attended City and Guilds of London Art School and Canterbury Christ Church University from which she graduated with a Degree in Fine Art Painting in 2002. Nancy moved to New York shortly thereafter, sharing a studio in the Starrett-Lehigh Building with artist Franco Ciarlo. After solo shows at Frost & Reed, New York in 2005 and 2006, she returned to the UK for a solo show at Sladmore Contemporary, London in 2008.
Most recently she has featured in group shows in Miami and Southampton, USA and in The Blue Edition show in Knightsbridge, London. In 2008, Nancy was named as one of the ‘Top 20 New British Art Talents’ by Tatler magazine, describing her as ‘the new Paula Rego’.
In 2017 she was one of 93 women artists chosen to exhibit their work in The Ned, London, for its permanent Vault 100 exhibition highlighting the disparity between male and female CEOs.
In 2019 Nancy presented to solo shows, Mind Zero and Footnotes (for the British Art Fair), for the Saatchi Gallery in London. In 2020, Nancy was featured in Wall of Small, a group show for the Lyndsey Ingram Gallery in London.
