Da Maria Vino + Vinyl is Back

With a special appearance from Australian winemaker Taras Ochota.

Bali’s lacklustre reputation when it comes to booze is set to change thanks to Da Maria. The Seminyak restaurant has revealed its ongoing devotion to bringing quality wine to the island with the launch of its latest event, a sequel to natural wine foray Bistecca + Vino + Vinyl back in August. Come November 22, the Italian eatery will welcome Vino + Vinyl 2 for one night only. It’s a casual affair, based around good wine, tasty snacks, and decent conversation about wine, the latter courtesy of special guest Australian winemaker Taras Ochota of Ochota Barrels.

Taras will be showcasing a selection of his much-loved creations; a trio of riesling, grenache, and pinot noir, all available for an affordable 140-150k per glass. It’s a chance to sample some of Australia’s best natural wine, and have a chat with the creator himself.

“Nico and I went through the Basket Range earlier this year to research for Uni,” says Mexicola Group Executive Chef Steven Skelly. “We met plenty of colourful characters, but within minutes of meeting Taras and trying the wines we knew we had to get him over to Bali! I can’t wait to cook for these wines.”

Partnering Taras’ drinks will be a selection of aperitivo-style dishes created especially for the occasion by Steven, with both the specialty menu and natural wine available throughout the entire venue.

Da Maria Vino + Vinyl 2 will be held on Friday November 22. Bookings can be made via email [email protected]
