The Tropical Vibe with a Stunning Renovation

Uluwatu’s iconic Karma Beach Club confirms a major revamp.

Bali is home to an abundant population of beach clubs, and one of the most adored is found at Karma Kandara’s private beach at the base of the cliffs of Uluwatu. Karma Beach Club is nestled by Uluwatu reef, offering resort guests and day visitors the perfect venue to enjoy the pristine waters of the resort’s private beach, cocktail in hand.

Karma Beach Club will confirm its status as Bali’s best loved beachside hang with a major renovation confirmed by Karma Group. The Club’s luxe, relaxed atmosphere will be enhanced and expanded with renowned designer Tina Kirschner reimagining the venue to embrace a more tropical feel. “We’re keeping the typical Karma deconstructed beach vibe but with a more modern and sexy twist,” she explains of her plans.

“Karma Beach Club has long been synonymous with the Karma ideal of playing hard and relaxing harder in the most spectacular places on the planet”, said John Spence, Chairman and Founder of Karma Group. “We are excited to be taking this magical place to another level, whilst being careful to maintain the unique heart and soul that sets it apart from the rest.”

The newly imagined Karma Beach Club will be separated into two distinct offerings; Karma Beach Dining, and Karma Beach Bar. The former will see a seat increase from 87 to 110 due to the addition of more decking, bar seating, and beach facing communal dining options for larger groups. A new thatched roof will protect diners on the odd occasion when the weather is less than perfect. A new pizza oven and sushi bar will be introduced to the kitchen, joined by new art deco furniture and lighting, swing chairs, and a revamped bathroom, which will welcome three new beach showers for guests eager to go from beach to bar.

A section of the former restaurant will be transformed into the new bar and lounge. Intended as a space to relax with soothing beats by some of the world’s best DJs, the bar will have large swing chairs overlooking the ocean and wooden stools paired with a single large communal table, perfect for sampling the famous Karma cocktail menu. With an emphasis on organic shapes and recycled materials, the new Karma Beach Club will raise the bar high as the quintessential Bali beach club experience for visitors to the Bukit Peninsula.
