‘From Peru with Love’ @ Duta Café & Restaurant

In collaboration with the Embassy of Peru in Indonesia, Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada invited Peruvian Professional Chef, Jaimie Arbulu. He will bring to the table the most authentic Peruvian dishes with all the ingredients rarely found in Jakarta. Foodies will be spoiled with world class cuisine handcrafted by the master himself starting from 20 August 2019 until 1 September 2019.

Chef Jaime will take the diners on an indulgence culinary journey, ranging from dinner set menu at Duta Café & Restaurant, cocktail making appearance at Duta Lounge as well as a specially curated Peruvian buffet station at Duta Café & Restaurant.

Marks the opening this culinary agenda, Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada threw launching event “From Peru With Love” which attended by more than 100 invited guests including honourable guests The Ambassador of Peru in Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Julio Cárdenas and his official teams Mr. Carlos Mario Del Castillo Giuffra as Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Francisco Gutierrez Figueroa as Second Secretary and Chief of the Consular Section, Mr. Juan Carlos Valdivia as Counsellor of Commercial and Economic Affair. The event started with a warm welcome from the host, Mr. Brendon Meppem as Area General Manager Indonesia and General Manager Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada and continued with speech from The Ambassador of Peru in Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Julio Cárdenas. 

Prior to the main event, there was a private cooking demofor media and food bloggers started on 14.00 until 17.00. 35 media and food bloggers were invited to meet and greet Chef Jaime Arbulu which demonstrate well-known Peruvian Menu, Ceviche(Marinated catch of the day cured in citrus sauce)and Lomo Saltado(Srit fried Thinly sliceed beef with onions, tomatoes and French fries) also beverage menu, Pisco Sour with many styles. Ceviche was composed of chunks of raw red snapper, marinated in freshly squeezed key lime, with sliced onions, chili, salt and pepper also Leche de Tigre (“tiger milk”). Pisco Sour is an alcoholic cocktail of Peruvian origin that is typical of the cuisines from Peru. The drink’s name comes from pisco, which is its base liquor, and the cocktail term sour, in reference to sour citrus juice and sweetener components. Guests were also entertained with music performance performed by Mr. Pacha Chawlanka who played beautiful performance of Ethnic Music of Andes Mountain South America with its instrument called Zamponas and Quena.

“Through our first joint event with embassy, we hope we can increase numbers of visitors and diners at Duta Café & Restaurant. And as a hotel, Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada can increase its brand awareness both local and expatriate’s guests. Duta Café & Restaurant as All-Day-Dining Restaurant in the hotel hopefully can bring something new to the table and give more options for diners in Jakarta. With the arrival of a guest chef from Peru, we expect that Duta Café & Restaurant visits will increase by 20-40 percent every day,” said Priskilla Wanda as Marketing Communication Manager Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada.
