The New Flavors of Mooncake for the Mid-Autumn Festival

JIA, the contemporary Chinese restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta presents the mooncake to enliven the tradition of the Mid-Autumn Festival. 

This year, JIA presents new flavors of Mooncake, namely Red Velvet with Tiramisu paste and White Lotus with Spicy Dried Shrimp made exclusively. JIA also offers various selection of mooncake served as an enticing classic mooncake to try. 

Bamboo Charcoal Pandan

Mooncakes are a tradition in Chinese festivals and celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Lunar calendar. The ancient Chinese people used to eat mooncake while enjoying the beautiful view of the full moon. In Chinese traditional culture, the shape of a circle resembles the shape of a full moon, which symbolizes togetherness and completeness of the family. 

Red Bean Paste

Chef Christopher Chai creatively presents the new unique flavors such as Red Velvet with Tiramisu and White Lotus with Spicy Dried Shrimp that will be available in the middle of this autumn. JIA also offers another favorite variation such as White Lotus paste with Single / Double Yolk and Red Lotus paste with Single / Double Yolk, Red Bean paste, Healthy Five Grain and Bamboo Charcoal Pandan. 

Red Velvet Tiramisu Paste

The mooncake creations comes in two packages, containing two (2) mooncakes and four (4) Mooncakes. The cake will be presented in a luxurious box of vivid tangelo orange with golden touch of Chrysanthemum, which symbolizes beautiful and classy autumn in Chinese culture. 

White Lotus Single Yolk

The mooncake will be displayed and available for purchase in a decadently designed booth at the Lobby area from 10 July to 13 September 2019. Guests who order before 31 July 2019 and Golden Circle members will get 20 per cent early-bird savings. The price for a box containing two mooncakes starting from IDR 308,000 net and a box containing four mooncakes starting from IDR 568,000 net.
