- In addition to Ramadan chatbot, LINE introduces original Ramadan web series and exclusive Ramadan stickers
- Special features and contents aim at making LINE a ‘meaningful friend’ (#TemanBerfaedah) to users
LINE Indonesia announced today that it is releasing a range of exclusive features and contents for Ramadan, to both help and inspire users during this important season. These additions include a LINE Ramadan Official Account – which features the first ever Ramadan chatbot in Indonesia and a variety of engaging content – a Ramadan web series and exclusive Ramadan stickers.
“In this holy month, we want to accompany our users’ Ramadan journey in a way that is special and significant – like a meaningful friend (#TemanBerfaedah),” said Dale Kim, managing director of LINE Indonesia. “One way we are trying to be meaningful is through our Ramadan chatbot feature, where we can communicate with our users in a fun way, while delivering interactive and educative content about Ramadan season.”
LINE’s new Ramadan chatbot is called Marbot, which is short for “Amalan Ramadan Chatbot,” and can be found on the LINE Ramadan Official Account. Marbot can interact with LINE users through contents like prayer reminders, daily teachings and inspirational messages about Ramadan, Ramadan trivia, and notifications about “iftar” activities. It also includes special “Ramadan Hemat” content from LINE Shopping, as well as “Ngabubu-Rich” content from LINE Games where users can play fun LINE games while waiting for iftar.
“The growth of chatbots in Indonesia is significant and we want to familiarise our users with what chatbots can do,” said Fauzan Helmi, Product Manager of LINE Indonesia. “Hopefully, Marbot will really open a lot of people’s eyes to the possibilities, while also celebrating this important Ramadan season.”
In the spirit of the “meaningful friend” theme, LINE also created a special Ramadan web series about friendship during the Ramadan season, titled “The Last Ramadan” (Ramadan Terakhir). This web series consists of four episodes, with one debuting each week, and showcases how Marbot can be a fun Ramadan companion. The first episode launched on May 18, quickly gaining much positive feedback from audiences for being fun, warm-hearted, and unpredictable.
In addition, to bringing the spirit of Ramadan to the LINE messenger app, LINE has also created exclusive Ramadan sticker sets. These sets include designs by top sticker creators, music stickers, the LINE Friends characters, and popular celebrities – including one of Indonesia’s most loved celebrity families, Keluarga Belo (Ditto Percussion, Ayudia Bing Slamet, and Sekala).
Finally, as an additional reward to its loyal users, LINE is holding a daily competition on the LINE Ramadan Official Account titled “Ramadan Surprise Points” (Kejutan Point Ramadan) that will last until May 31, 2018, where a total of 750 million points will be given away to users over Ramadan.
