Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa working together with The John Fawcett FoundationBali, 3 June 2013 – Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa celebrates its 30th anniversary by helping the Nusa Dua community to see the world as a better place by working together with The John Fawcett Foundation, a social organization focused on humanitarian activities including on sight restoration and blindness prevention for less fortunate people in need.
Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa and The John Fawcett Foundation held a free eye examination program for the Nusa Dua community on 30-31 May 2013 at Ex-Tragia parking lot. On the first day a professional medical team conducted eye exams for 615 people, distributed 563 reading and corrective glasses, provided eye drop medication to 261 people and successfully completed on-site surgeries on 10 elderly men and women who suffered from cataract. This team of professionals received great support and assistance from volunteers as well as from the staff and management of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa.
On the second day, the John Fawcett Foundation and Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa visited two elementary schools, SDN 1 and SDN 7 Benoa, to examine the eyes of approximately 1,200 children providing a total of 48 corrective glasses and eye medication for 60 children.
In celebration of this milestone anniversary Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa also conducted a cleaning campaign, social visit and donation to orphanages and blood donation to Red Cross Indonesia (Palang Merah Indonesia). Future anniversary activities continue, including the upcoming Fun Bike on 30 June. The hotel also hosted a lot of fun activities as appreciation for the staff, such as fun games, staff party exactly on the resort’s anniversary dated 28 May as well as staff and family outing 26-29 June.
