Jakarta, 6 May 2013 – Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta once again plays host to another great culinary festival at its Asian-inspired restaurant, Cinnamon. From 13-18 May 2013, guests can savour their favourite Thai dishes presented by a well known Thai master chef from the legendary Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

A Thai celebrity chef and Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s Executive Thai Sous Chef and Consultant, Chef Sumet Sumpachanyanont will showcase dishes that highlight the great and diverse cuisine of Thailand, offering guests a visual delight as well as an explosion of exotic Thai flavours for the palate.

Chef Sumet’s mastery of Thai cuisine has helped him to preside over a variety of Thai food promotions and trainings in many different countries including Australia, England, Japan, Macau, France, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong. He now teaches at Mandarin Oriental Professional Thai Chef Programme and is the host of a popular TV cooking show in Bangkok.

Using the freshest seafood, tropical fruits and exotic spices, the expanded buffet menu will feature delicious Thai specialties such as Tom Yaam Goong (spicy prawn soup with lemon grass and straw mushroom), Gaeng Khiew Waan Gai (Green chicken curry with eggplant and Thai sweet basil) and Khow Niew Mamaung (coconut sticky rice with mango). The buffet is available for lunch and dinner, priced at IDR 218,000++ per person.
