The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place proudly presents a celebration of culinary delights and fine wines featuring three celebrity guest chefs and five distinguished winemakers from Australia’s Margaret River. From 12 to 15 June 2013, guests will be able to observe fine cooking, enjoy exceptional dining and learn about the art of the trade.

Celebrity Guest Chefs and Winemakers Dinner

Pacific Restaurant & Lounge is proud to welcome back celebrity guest chef Dennis Mifsud of the prominent wine bar restaurant, Winos of Margaret River, Western Australia. Chef Dennis will partner with Tony Howell, Resident Executive Chef from Cape Lodge, as well as former MasterChef Australia finalist and Nigel Harvey, Executive Chef from Voyager Estate. The three of them will team up to present a five-course dinner paired with wines from Margaret River.

Chef Dennis, of Australia, brings to the table a wealth of culinary experience as well as a passion for travel and food, which has brought him to jobs throughout South East Asia, Europe and Australia. His experiences allowed him to discover new cuisines and cultures that continue to influence his cooking style. His contributions to the industry have appeared in various publications and on cooking programs in Australia.

Since 1999, Tony Howell has been Resident Executive Chef of Cape Lodge, one of Australia’s finest new generation gourmet establishments and a multi-award-winning restaurant. Tony devotes much of his time to promoting Australian produce and enticing food and wine lovers to visit Margaret River.

His appearance on TV series Australia MasterChef had a positive effect on the local hospitality industry. Nigel Harvey, Executive Chef at Voyager Estate, has played a key role in establishing the winery restaurant’s reputation as one of Australia’s best. Since joining in 2003, Nigel has earned several awards and accolades, including the prestigious Premier’s Award in 2006 for “Best Restaurant in Western Australia,” two inductions into the Catering Institute’s Hall of Fame and recognition as “Best Winery Restaurant” from Weekend Australian’s Travel and Tourism Awards.

To complement each course, the owners and the winemakers from renowned wineries such as Ashbrook, Edwards, Cullen, Flame Tree and Laurance will feature the best picks from their wineries.

A lavish five-course dinner can be enjoyed on Thursday, 13 June 2013. Priced at IDR988,000++ per person or IDR1,288,000++ per person including wine pairing.

Culinary Master Class

Dennis Mifsud, Tony Howell and Nigel Harvey from Margaret River, as well as renowned Jakarta foodie Petty Elliott, will showcase their skills during a three-hour cooking class on Wednesday, 12 June 2013, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Guests are welcome to mingle with the chefs and enjoy lunch after the show. Priced at IDR458,000++ per person. Friday Night Wine Festival

This is a unique opportunity to sample a variety of wines from all over Western Australia in addition to a selection of snacks prepared by our Master Chefs from Margaret River. The event will be held at our open air 8 Lounge on 14 June 2013, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Wine lovers are welcome to enjoy and relax while watching live screenings of short movies from the same region. Priced at IDR458,000++ for tasting of 10 different wines and snacks.

Wine Tasting Experience

Gain insight into the historical and cultural significance of wines from Margaret River from the owners and winemakers themselves. Guests will learn how to identify wines based on aromas as well as how to pair wines with food. The exclusive class will be held on Saturday, 15 June 2013, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Priced at IDR398,000++ per person inclusive of wine tasting and cocktail.

Margaret River Wine Dinner

The highlight of this weekend will be the Margaret Wine Dinner, featuring five-courses and six perfectly paired wines from a very specific winery. The exclusive dinner, during which diners will be able to interact with the wine maker, will be held on Saturday, 15 June 2013, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Priced at IDR1,288,000++ per person inclusive of wine tasting.
