Petty Elliott’s Exploration of Indonesian Lesser Known Treasures

Petty Elliott in collaboration with the culinary team of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place has created a new approach to modern Indonesian cuisine. A variety of spices, herbs and ingredients presented in a creative form will delight the guests on Thursday, 21 March 2013 evening at Pacific Restaurant & Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place.  

Petty Elliott, a renowned journalist and foodie, has been writing about food and giving cooking demonstrations for more that five years. Her book, “Papaya Flower – Manadonese Cuisine, Provincial Indonesian Food” was published on 2009 and reflects her upbringing, with an accent on the contemporary and modern using Indonesian ingredients. Petty’s culinary background is a blend of Indonesian home cooking, influences from Mediterranean Europe, as she had travel around the world and time spent in UK.  

Accompanied by the hotel’s very own Executive Chef Sean Macdougall and Chef de Cuisine Reuben Winantyo, a five-course meal will be presented during the dinner and matched with the finest wines that guarantee a memorable culinary experience. The exclusive dinner can be enjoyed at Rp. 1,500,000 nett per person inclusive of cocktail and wine pairing.  

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Yayasan Wisma Cheshire which gives opportunity and empowerment to physically disabled individuals through education and vocational trainings.

Pacific Restaurant & Lounge offers a buffet selection and ala carte menu with International and Asian cuisines. Four private dining rooms are available for exclusive functions. Level 8 an ideal private venue and an open air lounge to enjoy exclusive escape. A 3,800sqm ballroom and 3,800sqm pre function area can cater up to 10,000 people for standing reception or 2,400 people of sit down banquets.
