Singapore Food Festival @ Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta


Jakarta, 21 January 2013 – With its elegant and contemporary style of all-day-dining, Cinnamon restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta invites guests to discover the finest flavors of Singaporean cuisine presented by Singapore’s top Chef, Eric Cheam from 18 – 23 February 2013.

Singapore cuisine is known for its great diversity having been influenced by Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Peranakan cooking. As a result it offers a wide range of dishes such as Indian Curry Fish Head, Malay Asam Pedas, as well as unique creations such as the iconic Chilli Crab. The Singaporean Food Festival will allow guests to satisfy their cravings for those authentic traditional dishes without having to travel very far.

Chef Cheam, who helms the position of Sous-Chef at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, is a master of Singaporean cuisine and has received multiple awards for his culinary flair. Most recently, he represented the Singapore National Culinary Team won the 2010 Food Hotel Asia Battle of Lion (Overall Champion) award. Chef Cheam also won the first runner-up award in the Bocuse d’Or Singapore National Selection in 2009; and earlier in 2009, won the Gold award and overall first runner-up in the HOFEX-Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2009 Gourmet Team Challenge for the Singapore National Culinary Team.
