New Concept of Healthy Breakfast @ The Gallery Restaurant

10 September 2012 was an exciting time for the Hotel Ciputra Jakarta with the re-opening of the newly redesigned and refurbished first floor restaurant, The Gallery. Part of the restaurant’s uniqueness is with the new concept for the breakfast menu because everyone has a different idea of the perfect breakfast. In for a heavy day, or just want to take it easy? Choosing the right breakfast for the day ahead of you is one of the first things you do to start your day. Now, we make it easier for you by creating a smart way to choose what you want to eat, simply by following your colour! Check the details below.

Follow your colour and choose the right breakfast for you this morning

When people wake up in the morning, they mostly already have a good idea of what they are going to eat for breakfast – scrambled egg with sausages or perhaps just a pinch of salad with yoghurt. But do people really know the nutritional value of what they eat? The new menu in The Gallery Restaurant contains a guide chart that will help you to make the right choice of what to eat for breakfast.

The chart has five colours, each matching a description of what type of food would best meet your energy and health needs for the day:
  1. Blue = Low Fat & Low Calorie – for weight and health conscious guests
  2. Red = Hi-Energy – for those who need lots of energy for a busy day
  3. Green = High Fibre – essential for your inner equilibrium
  4. Purple = Low Cholesterol – always associated with reduced risk of heart disease
  5. Yellow = Big time! – enjoy your own choice of the freshest and finest quality items from the buffet
The colour codes are the unique concept of The Gallery breakfast menu. Each food item on the breakfast menu has a specific colour tag and information about the nutritional value. For example, eggs will be tagged with a red colour which means hi-energy food; oranges will have a blue tag representing low fat and low calories, with green for high fibre, purple for cholesterol and yellow for wild abandonment.

This programme is a breakthrough for the hotel industry in Indonesia where few hotels, even 5-star hotels, do not provide their guests with food and nutrition information, especially in providing these details in a menu with a food guide. The Gallery Restaurant is pioneering this great new concept. The colour guide will also be helpful for overseas guests who are not familiar with some Asian dishes that may not match their dietary needs. The colour guide will help them to understand the food and decide what their most suitable breakfast is.

So now, when you come to The Gallery Restaurant, you can enjoy your perfect breakfast while enjoying the restaurant’s fresh new design inspired by artist, Hendra Gunawan and features sculptures, paintings and other artistic touches designed by Hadiprana.
