HERBS WITH EVERYTHING

China’s first great herbalist was known as Shennong. According to legend, he tasted the entire range of Chinese herbs and enlightened the masses with their health benefits. Later, a manual known as the “Shennong Bencaojing” was created consisting of 252 herbal medicines. Herbs have been an essential element in traditional Chinese cooking for thousands of years. It is known to be the source of good health and one of the secret ingredients of long life. As Master Chef John Chu knows, they bring rich flavors to dishes. Uncover the traditional taste of herbal cooking with Pearl’s special eight-course menu this April including boiled chicken soup with abalone clam and fresh ginseng; braised whole fish with “tong sum” herb and preserved cabbage; fortune beggar chicken; fried rice with chestnuts and meats wrapped in lotus leaves; as well as Pearl’s chilled herbal jelly “gui lin gao” and more. Prices range from Rp 38,000 to Rp 328,000 for individual dishes. The set menu (eight dishes) is available at Rp 388,000++ per person.
